Adult Illiteracy: why it’s okay.
Wanting to learning is someone nobody should be ashamed about, no matter their age. We want to raise awareness on something that although might seem uncommon, is a pressing issue for many. Many adults didn’t have the resources or time or just weren’t able to learn in their youth. It’s ok, it happens. Statistics show that approximately 773 million adults worldwide are illiterate, with a global adult literacy rate of around 86%.
It’s normal for illiterate adults to feel ashamed or even embarrassed about their lack of knowledge, when the truth is, it often stems from systemic issues such as lack of access to quality education, socioeconomic barriers, and limited resources.
Adult illiteracy is something we hope to impact, deal with, and erase, to help all adults everywhere in the world
